Zhuang Jia Collection

The Zhuang Jia Collection is a collaboration with Zhuang Qingfang (庄庆芳), a renowned contemporary jade artist from Sihui, Guangdong, China. With more than two decades devoted to jade carving, Zhuang has developed his distinctive “Zen Jade” style, guided by a simple philosophy: respect the material and follow nature.

Drawing on Chinese Zen Buddhist thought, Zhuang removes the unnecessary and allows the stone itself to lead the design. Gentle, restrained lines bring together texture, colour, form and meaning, revealing rather than overwhelming the natural character of the jade.

For this collection, Zhuang brings his artistic language to Australian nephrite jade from Cowell, South Australia. From Buddhist and Taoist influences to architecture and forms found in nature, each design transforms ancient stone into a contemporary object of contemplation and beauty.

Minimal yet expressive, traditional yet distinctly modern, the collection embodies Zhuang's belief that every piece should be able to speak to people.
