The jade is known for its fine grain and rich, deep color. The artist expertly utilizes contrasts between the raw outer skin and polished surfaces to highlight the ruggedness of the mountain and the intricacy of the trees, enhancing the realism and dimensionality of the scene. Portions of the natural stone texture are preserved, echoing the original look of the rocks and expressing the Eastern philosophy of harmony between man and nature.
