This remarkable pendant, titled Thousand Buddhas in One Thought, is a spiritual masterpiece by Chinese jade artist Li Yan (李炎).
Hand-carved from premium Australian black jade, the front side features a serene seated Buddha in a shrine-shaped alcove, symbolizing inner peace and enlightenment. Above the Buddha are fifteen miniature Buddha figures, inlaid in silver and gold, representing the cosmic presence of the thousand Buddhas — a recurring theme in Mahayana Buddhism denoting infinite wisdom and compassion.
The reverse side is equally compelling: a solemn Buddha raises his hand in blessing as hundreds of golden and silver miniature Buddhas rise in waves behind him, like a celestial procession. This design reflects the idea that through mindfulness and a single pure thought, one can connect with the boundless realm of all Buddhas.
